Annoyed At: Push Down Web Ads

Websites push the content of their page down and bring an ad onto the screen. These “push-downs” have replaced the older “pop-ups” all over the web. USA Today’s website is especially notorious for this practice. You’ll click on a new section, the page will load long enough for you to begin reading a story and then WHAMMO!! The whole screen gets pushed down by an ad, often with a self-starting video! And then, if you neglect to close the ad and scroll down the page to continue reading, the ad will close itself, pushing up the page and again moving what you were reading out of the way.
