FB Friend: Johanna Antes
If you know today’s Awesome Facebook Friend Of The Day, then I know you love her. Who doesn’t love Johanna Antes? No one, that’s who.
Johanna has one of the toughest jobs in radio, or broadcasting in general, or in life for that matter. She is the director of support for the Radio Training Network family of stations. That includes The JOY FM network, HIS Radio and a handful of other stations from Florida to Georgia, Alabama, the Carolinas and Missouri. Not only is Johanna the best at what she does, she loves what she does, and that makes a huge difference.
I’ve had the privilege to work with Johanna for a few years and getting to spend those long days in the studio with her are some of the best days of the year. Johanna’s unofficial title is Keeper of Stories. She has an amazing way of seeing beyond the fund raising goal, the dollars and cents, to the hearts and lives that are changed because of the message that her work supports.
Johanna travels to each station, twice a year to champion the cause. She is tireless. And she always wears a smile. I suspect that’s because of the smile that’s permanently etched on her heart. I’ve never heard a cross word from her, even when software goes down, phone systems crash or volunteers don’t show up. She counts it an honor to work in the service of the living God and that makes it a pleasure to number her among my friends.
